Anantavratakathā (Part of Bhaviṣyottarapurāṇa)

Anantavratakathā is a part of Bhaviṣyottara Puraṇa. The text explains the significance and the procedure of the Anantavrata, an observance with specific rituals dedicated to the Hindu deity Viṣṇu in the form of Ananta. The ritual involves offering of fruits, flowers, leaves and sweets. Chanting of mantras. Tying of a sacred thread. This observance was recommended to Yudhiṣṭhira by Kṛṣn in the epic Mahābhārata narrated in the text. There are also legends mentioned about Suśīlā and ṛṣi kaundinya present. This Ms. is written in 9 lines per folio. Cover page is blank. Title present in colophon (f. 18b). There are double black vertical margins on each side of the folio. Mistakes are blacked out. Some corrections and additions in the margins. The Ms. is dated on the basis of manuscripts written by the same scribe Ms. Coll. 390; Items 2277 and 2292. Anantavratakathā

Anantavratodyāpana

Anantavratodyāpana describes the Anantavrata ritual also known as Ananta Caturdaśi is an observance dedicated to the Hindu deity Viṣṇu in the form of Ananta. This rituals are performed on the 14th day of the Śukla pakṣa (waxing moon) in the month of Bhādrapada (August-September). The text is a part of the Skandapurāṇa (f. 3b). This Ms. is written in 9 lines per folio. Cover page is blank. Title present in colophon (f. 3b). Mistakes are blacked out. The Ms. is dated on the basis of manuscripts written by the same scribe Ms. Coll. 390; Items 2277 and 2292. Ms. Coll. 390; Items 2275, 2276, 2277, 2281, 2282, 2286, 2287, 2288, 2289, 2290, 2291, 2292, and 2293.




Ānayo vaiśvānarāya

Ānayo vaiśvānarāya is a text which contains the procedures for various Vedic rituals and sacrifices. It also contains early examples of Hindu legends like that of vaiśvānara an abstract concept of a universal Ātman. This Ms. is written in 10–12 lines per folio. Title present in opening marginal note in red. Back page contains alternate title Caturthāṣṭaka (f. 72b). There are double red vertical margins on each side of the folio. Anekadhvanimañjarī

Anekadhvanimañjarī is a Sanskrit lexicon composed by Mahākṣapaṇaka which lists single words with their various possible meanings very similar to how modern dictionaries are formulated. The text is a valuable resource for learners and scholars as they can understand the proper nuances and interpretations of the meaning of words. This text is also sometimes attributed to Durgāsiṃha and Gadasiṃha. This Ms. lacks a beginning, the first two folios. This Ms. is written in 10–11 lines per folio. Back page contains title. Title also present in colophon (f. 14a). Mistakes are covered with yellow or blacked out. Anekaprakarṇe (A Composite Manuscript drawn from various texts mainly Purāṇas)

Anekaprakarṇe is a collection of 16 daily rituals and prayers mainly to the Hindu deity Śiva. The text has been drawn from larger works mainly from the Purāṇic literature. (1) Sūryakavaca (from the Skandapurāṇa), (2) Śanaiscarastotra (from the Skandapurāṇa), (3) An unidentified stotra, (4) Śanistuti, (5) Vidhānamālā śanyaṣṭaka, (6) Mānaspūja (partially present), (7) Pradoṣastotra (from the Brahmottarakhaṇḍa of the Skandapurāṇa), (8) Samkaṣṭanāśanastotra (from the Padmapurāṇa), (9) Catuḥślokībhāgavata (from Skandha 2 of the Bhāgavatapurāṇa, (10) Saptaślokīgītā, (11) Gītāsāra (from the Mahābhārata), (12) Aparādhastotra, (13) Hanumantadvādaśanāmastotra, (14) Nāmopaniṣad, (15) Gaṅgāṣṭakastotra (attributed to Vālmīki), (16) Navārṇavājapa. This Ms. is written in 11 lines per folio. Cover page contains title. Mistakes are covered with yellow or blacked out. The Ms. is dated śaka 1711 (1789), in Magha (January-February), in the dark half of the month, the 14th day (f. 16B).

Annapūrṇāmūlamantra

Annapūrṇāmūlamantra is a devotional text for the veneration Annapūrṇa a form of Hindu deity Durgā. The mantras of the text are chanted as a prayer for invoking blessings from the deity prosperity and overall well-being. This Ms. is written 12 lines per folio. Title present in line no. 5 in (f. 1a). Alternate title Japavidhi present in marginal abbreviation (f. 1b). Mistakes are crossed out in black.




Annapūrṇāstotra

Annapūrṇāstotra is a devotional text in praise of Annapūrṇā a form of Hindu deity Dūrgā for both public and private recitation. The stotra is recited for attaining spiritual knowledge and prosperity. The text is attributed to Ādi Śaṅkarācārya, but is likely written by one of his followers or a later Śaṅkarācārya. This Ms. is written in 5 lines per folio. Cover page contains alternative title. Title present in colophon (f. 5b). Mistakes are covered with yellow or blacked out. Some corrections and additions in the margins. Antyeṣṭipaddhati

Antyeṣṭipaddhati is a priest manual for performing rituals for Antyeṣṭi (funeral rites) like necessary items and steps. It also contains the dāna prakriyā (gifts for donation) to officiate these rituals by the Brahman priests for their services. This Ms. is written in 8 lines per folio. There are triple red vertical margins on each side of the folio. Mistakes are blacked out.
