Part of the Skanda Purāṇa [Skandapurāṇa], the Himavat Khaṇḍa contains the Virūpākṣa Māhātmya, Nepāla Māhātmya and other descriptions of sacred sites (tīrtha). Three quarters of the 240 folios are damaged, over a quarter severely.

A textbook on astronomy authored by Śatananda Ācarya in 1099, based on Varāhamihira’s summary of Lāṭadeva’s recension of the Sūryasiddhānta by Āryabhaṭa I (fifth–sixth centuries CE), which helped to popularize it throughout northern and eastern India (Pingree 1981). The manuscript was written by Divākara Dvija in 1837.
