Gurucaritra

Gurucaritra focuses on the personality of Guru-s (Teachers), highlighting the teacher’s characteristics and expressing the author’s deep gratitude toward his teacher. This manuscript is composed in Awadhi verses written in Dohā and Chaupaī style of poetry. The colophon honors the renouned Awadhi author Tulsidāsa followed by the author of the text written as Jagaṃnnadāsa probably Jagannāthacandra being misspelt by the scribe. The title is mentioned in the incipit (f. 1b) and colophon (f. 5b). The name of the scribe is mentioned as Sumeradāsa who is a Vaiṣṇava disciple of Suṣumanadāsa. It is written in 6–9 lines per leaf. 5 leaves are foliated 1–5, upper left and lower right verso. Mistakes are blacked out, some corrections and additions in margins; significant syllables, words, or phrases highlighted in red throughout.
