Amṛtabindu Upaniṣad

Amṛtabiṇḍūpaniṣad which means nector of imortality is a minor upaniṣad not included in the 12 major upaniṣads. It is traditionally associated to be based on the Atharvaveda. It is listed among the 5 Bindūpaniṣads the others being Nadabindu, Brahmabindu, Amṛtānanda, Dhyānabindu. It is also listed in the 20 Yoga ūpaniṣads out of the total 200 while their authenticity may be subjective. The text greatly contributes to Yoga school of Hindu philosophy. The Patañjali Yogasūtra upholds the system of Aṣtāṅga Yoga the eight-limbed yogic system to attain Samādhi (liberation). Similarly there is a six-limbed system present in Amṛtabiṇḍūpaniṣad. The text enforces consistent practice rather than just intellectual understanding for spiritual progress. The text also envisions Hindu deity Śiva as the ultimate reality.
