Sārasvati

Sārasvatavyākaraṇa, traditionally attributed to Anubhūtisvarūpācārya, is a concise treatise on Sanskrit grammar intended for elementary instruction. The extant portion contains sections on the five kinds of sandhi (pañca-sandhi-prakriyā), declension of vowel-ending masculine nouns and i-ending stems such as nadī, case-inflections (vibhakti-prakriyā), and compounds (samāsa). The work presents the basic principles of Sanskrit morphology and compound formation in a systematic manner and was widely used as an introductory manual of grammar. The marginal indication “Sārasvati” suggests that the manuscript belongs to the tradition of the Sārasvatavyākaraṇa, although the absence of a complete colophon prevents a definitive identification.
