Āśvalāyanagṛhyasūtra

Āśvalāyanagṛhyasutra is a Kalpaśāstra text used to perform various Vedic/Hindu rituals, rites, ceremonies and Saṃskāras particularly domestic rituals in households ranging from conception to death of a person. It is a Smṛti text based on the Aitareya Brāhmaṇa of the Ṛgveda. It is part of the 6 Vedāṅgas (Imagined body parts of the Vedic texts in the form of a person that is Vedapuruṣa) which are listed as Chanda (Feet of the Vedas), Kalpa (Hands), Jyotiṣa (Eyes), Nirukta (Ears), Śikṣā (Nose), Vyākaraṇa (Mouth). The text consists of 4 Adhyāyas (chadters) which are further devided into Khaṇḍas (sections). This Ms. contains Adhyāya 1 from (f.1b–16a). Adhyāya 2 from (f.16a–21b). Adhyāya 3 from (f.21b–28a). Adhyāya 4 from (f.28b–36b). This Ms. is written 7–8 lines per folio. There are double red vertical margins on each side of the folio which have faded away. The double Pūrna Virāma (full stop) style vertical brackets and word devisions are in red. There are marginal corrections by many hands. Many syllables have faded away.
