Āśvalāyanaśrautasūtra (Adhyāya 2-6)

Āśvalāyanaśrautasūtra (Adhyāya 2–6) is a Kalpaśāstra text used to perform various Vedic rituals, rites, ceremonies. It is a Smṛti text based on the Aitareya Brāhmaṇa of the Ṛgveda. It is part of the 6 Vedāṅgas (Imagined body parts of the Vedic texts in the form of a person that is Vedapuruṣa) which are listed as Chanda (Feet of the Vedas), Kalpa (Hands), Jyotiṣa (Eyes), Nirukta (Ears), Śikṣā (Nose), Vyākaraṇa (Mouth). This Ms. contains the Adhyāyas (chapters) 2–6. Adhyāya 2 from (f.16a-37a), Adhyāya 3 from (f.37a–52b), Adhyāya 4 from (f.52b–67a), Adhyāya 5 from (67a–84b), Adhyāya 6 from (85a–97a). This Ms. lacks a beginning. This Ms. is written 7–11 lines per folio. There are double red vertical margins on each side of the folio. The text contains red metric accents. Some folios written in different hand. Some marginal corrections both by scribe and by another hand. Some folios have been treatad with yellow turmeric powder.
