About this Manuscript

This is a commentary on Śaṃkarācārya’s bhāṣya (commentary) on the Bhṛguvallī of the Taittirīyopaniṣad. The Taittirīyopaniṣad consists of three vallīs (chapters), the last of which is known as the Bhṛguvallī, and is also referred to separately as the Bhṛgūpaniṣad or Bhṛguvallyupaniṣad. In the colophon, the commentator mentions that he was a disciple of Uttamāmṛta. This Ms is written in 11–12 lines per folio. Cover and back page contain title. Title present in colophon (f. 3a). Mistakes are blacked out. Some corrections and additions in the margins. Significant syllables and words rubbed with orange powder for highlighting.
