The Abhidhānacintāmaṇi has six kāṇḍas on synonyms (it’s second part, on homonyms, is said by some to be spurious). The Liṅgānuśāsana is appended. Hemacandra was born in Ḍhunaka near Āhmedabad. His patron was the Caulukya king of Saurāṣṭra, Jayasiṃha Siddharāja (1094–1143).
