About this Manuscript
Gaṅgāmāhātma is a collection of various parts from different works like the epic Mahābhārata and various Purāṇic texts. The text describes the greatness of the Hindu river deity Gaṅgā as well as the river itself. This Ms. contains Mahābhārata Anuśāsanaparva selection, Mahābhārata Vanaparva selections, Brahmapurāṇa, Viṣṇupurāṇa, Matsyapurāṇa, Kūrmapurāṇa, Skandapurāṇa. Revākhaṇḍa, Liṅgapurāṇa, Varāhapurāṇa, Viṣṇudharmottarapurāṇa, Brahmāṇḍapurāṇa, Kāmikāsaṃhitta. This Ms. is written in 9 lines per folio. Mistakes are blacked out. Some corrections and additions in the margins.
