Nepālarājavaṃśāvalī

On the basis of the introductory verses and prose passages, the manuscript can be identified as a Nepalese Vaṃśāvalī (dynastic chronicle). The text explicitly states that it records the genealogy of the rulers of Nepal (Nepālikānāṃ bhūpānāṃ vaṃśāvalī), and its structure follows the conventional pattern of Nepalese historical chronicles, beginning with a cosmogonic account involving Ādibuddha, creation, Mount Sumeru, and the Himalayan region before proceeding to the succession of Nepalese kings. The heading “Atha Nepālarājāko mālā” further confirms that the principal purpose of the work is to present a royal genealogy. In the absence of a colophon, the exact title cannot be established with certainty; however, the manuscript may provisionally be catalogued as Nepālarājavaṃśāvalī or Nepālabhūpālavaṃśāvalī. The work is an important example of Nepalese historical and genealogical literature, combining mythological origins with dynastic history.
