About this Manuscript
The Naiṣadhiyacaritam, composed by the 12th-century poet Śrīharṣa, son of Śrīhīra and Māmalladevī. It is included among the best five Mahākāvyas according to tradition. The epic tells the story of Nala, the King of Niṣadha, and his love for Damayantī, the Princess of Vidarbha. The mahākāvya in 22 cantos on the story based on the Mahābhārata episode upto the marriage, but the work here contain only 1-11th chapter. It seems the manuscript is complete but the text is not complete itself. The manuscript is damaged by water.
