Upoṣadha Vrata and Aṣṭamī Vrata

This is a ritual text Upoṣadha Vrata and Aṣṭamī Vrata. In Buddhist devotional life a single, high-stakes monthly fast known as the Amoghapāśa Lokeśvara Aṣṭamī Vrata. This ritual is performed on the eighth day of the lunar fortnight, dedicated entirely to Amoghapāśa Lokeśvara (the eight-armed compassionate manifestation of Avalokiteśvara) to purify negative karma, heal illnesses, and accumulate vast spiritual merit. Upoṣadha Vrata is lay practitioners (Upāsakas and Upāsikās) visit the monastery, take refuge, and temporarily adopt the Aṣṭa-śīla for 24 hours. These include absolute fasting, celibacy, refraining from high or luxurious beds, and abstaining from perfumes or entertainment.f. no.1 has an illustration of Avalokitesvara with 8 hand.
