Jñānamañjarī

The manuscript Jñānamañjarī by Rṣiśarman is a traditional work on Jyotiṣa (Hindu astrology). It includes predictions about a person’s life based on principles of Jyotiṣa, using methods such as Haṁsa Parikṣā, Varṇa Saṁkhyā, and Svara Saṁkhyā. The manuscript also contains many tables and charts filled with numbers and letters, which are used to support these predictions and help interpret different aspects of an individual’s life. Title is taken from the colophon (f. 22b). It is written in 18–21 lines per leaf. 23 leaves are foliated 1–22, upper left and lower right verso. It is dated saṃvat 1925 (1868 CE) (f. 22b); there is an embossed seal with the date of 1867 on it (f. 17b). Mistakes are covered with yellow or blacked out; some corrections and additions in the margins; significant syllables and words highlighted in red throughout.; Bound as a codex with string and a paper binding using an adhesive.
