Bhāminīvilāsa

This is a kāvya text composed by Paṇḍitarāja Jagannātha (17th century). Originally, the work was divided into four sections: Prāstāvika, Śṛṅgāra, Karuṇa, and Śānta. However, the present manuscript contains only the first part of the text. It is also important to note that verses 100–130 are referred to as nīti (Jan Gonda, ed., A History of Indian Literature, Vol. IV.1, p. 57), which focus on ethics. In the colophon, the manuscript mentions bhāminīvilāsākhye-nītiśatakaṃ-samāptaṃ; however, it contains only 125 verses and is missing a few ślokas compared to the printed version. It is believed that the poet named the work after his deceased wife, Bhāminī. This Ms. is written in 10–11 lines per folio. Title present in colophon (f. 10b). Mistakes are covered with yellow or blacked out. Some corrections and additions in the margins. Significant syllables and words rubbed with orange powder for highlighting.
