About this Manuscript

This text belongs to Aitareya-Āraṇyaka II and includes chapters four, five, six, and seven, collectively titled Ātmaṣaṭaka. Chapters four, five, and six of Aitareya-Āraṇyaka II together constitute the Aitareya Upaniṣad, while the seventh chapter contains only a single mantra. Thus, the present text actually covers the entire Aitareya Upaniṣad and also includes the seventh chapter of Aitareya-Āraṇyaka II. This Ms. is written in 10 lines per folio. Title present in colophon (f. 4a). There are triple red vertical margins present on each side of the folio. Mistakes are blacked out. Some corrections and additions in the margins.
