About this Manuscript

Gārudaharivaṃśa is a supplementary text to the epic Mahābhārata depicting Hindu deity Kṛṣṇa's life events pre and post Mahābhārata war of him and his lineage. It is sometimes treated as a Purāṇic text also, but it is not included either in the 18 Mahāpurāṇas nor the 18 Upapurāṇas. The text is traditionally divided into three Parvas Harivaṃśaparva, Viṣṇuparva, Bhaviṣyaparva. This text should not be confused with the Jaina Harivaṃśapurāṇa. This Ms. is written in 10 lines per folio. Cover and back page is blank. Title present in colophon (f. 12a). There are double black vertical margins present on each side of the folio. The full stop style brackets and intermediate colophons are in red.
