Introduction
About this Manuscript
Guhyābhiṣeka Vidhi is an esoteric Vajrayāna ritual text for initiation into the maṇḍala of Cakrasaṃvara. The main text is in Sanskrit, whereas it has been translated into Nepālabhāṣā as needed, and the ritual instructions are also in Nepālabhāṣā. According to Vajrayāna philosophy, the disciple first takes refuge in the Guru, Buddha, Dharma, and Saṅgha, and then requests admission into the path of Mahāyāna, namely Vajrayāna. The guru subsequently introduces the disciple to the deity, the maṇḍala, and its significance. The last two folios of the manuscript consist of a short stotra dedicated to the Daśakrodhas. Their iconographical features are described, and salutations are offered to them with reverence.
