Gaṇapatipratiṣṭhāpanapaddhati

Gaṇapatipratiṣṭhāpanapaddhati is a priest manual which deals with the procedure of rituals for prāṇa pratiṣṭhā infusion of life force of the deity to a religious image, idol or any other form of shrine for worship. In this case deity Gaṇapati who is depicted with an elephant head. The text is attributed to Baudhāyana a renouned Vedic Kalpaśāstra and Dharmaśāstra text composer. This text may have taken inspiration from his works like the Gṛhyasūtra, Śrautasūtra or the Dharmasūtra. This Ms. is written in 13–15 lines per folio. Title present in colophon (f. 2b). Alternate title Gaṇapatipratiṣṭhā present in the begining of the text. There are double red vertical margins present on each side of the folio. Mistakes are blacked out. Some corrections and additions in the margins. The Ms. is dated saṃvat 1839 bhādrapadavadya 8 bhṛgunāre in (f. 2b) along with the scribe Mahādevabhaṭa Cipoṇkara, also named in item 178, which was written in the same year.
