Gorakhaguṭikā

On the basis of the extant text, Gorakhaguṭikā may be identified as a multi-part tantric manual associated with the Nātha tradition. The manuscript is divided into several sections, and colophons are preserved for the first six khaṇḍas (sections), whereas no colophon has been found for the seventh section. The text contains numerous mantras, prescribed recitation counts, ritual instructions, and invocations to deities such as Kāmākṣā, Kālī, Yoginīs, Brahmā, Viṣṇu, and Maheśvara, together with repeated references to Gorakṣanātha (Gorakharāya). These features indicate that the work was intended for practical ritual use, including protection, ritual efficacy, and the attainment of esoteric powers (siddhi). The contents demonstrate a strong Nātha and Śākta-tantric orientation, combining mantra recitation with ritual and magical practices. Therefore, the manuscript is best classified not as narrative or historical literature, but as a Tantric-Āgamic ritual manual and mantra compendium belonging to the Nātha tantric tradition.
