About this Manuscript

The Reṇukāsahasranāmastotra is an important Purāṇic text containing the 1,000 names of Goddess Reṇukā. In mythology, Reṇukā is the wife of the great Sage Jamadagni and the mother of Paraśurāma. In the suthern region she is regarded as a form or manifestation of the Divine Mother, identified with Durga, Parvati, or Adi Shakti. However, in Tantric and regional traditions, she rises far beyond the role of a sage's wife. It is a part of Skandapurāṇa Āmalīgrāma māhātmya which is mentioned by thye colophone. It covers only the praise of Reṇukā. The red coloured line has highlighting the colophone part.
