This text is based on Chapter 22 of the Saddharmapuṇḍarīkasūtra, titled Bhaiṣajyarājapūrvayoga-parivarta. However, it appears to recount a similar story of the Bodhisattva Bhaiṣajyarāja, as narrated by the Śākyamuni Buddha to Bodhisattva Nakṣatrarājasaṃkusumitābhijña.
