Devī Bhāgavatapurāṇa

Devī Bhāgavatapurāṇa is a purāṇic text on Śāktism school of Hindu philosophy. This text is generally not listed among the 18 Mahāpurāṇas but according to the Śivapurāṇa it is included. This text elevates Devī or Śakti from being just a supreme deity to the position of ultimate reality and the source of all existance also being the source of liberation. The text combines principals of Vedānta philosophy with Śāktaism. It has similarity to the Dvaitādvaita (Dualistic non-dualism) Vedānta philosophy. The text contains 12 Skandhas (cantos) which are further divided into 318 Adhyāyas (chapters). This Ms lacks a begining hence the text starts with Skandha 3; Adhyāya 20 from incomplete verse no. 48 in (f.41a) the Skandha ends in (f.29b). Skandha 4 is from (f.29b-) Skandha 8 (f. -) This Ms. is written in 15-22 lines per folio. Mistakes are covered with yellow. A few marginal corrections.
