About this Manuscript

Gaṇapatyāṣṭaka is a devotional text in praise of elephant headed Hindu deity Gaṇapati. As the title suggests the text consists of eight verses. However there are more than one different texts either of this same name or Gaṇeśāṣṭaka which are attributed to different authors most notably Ādi Shaṃkarācārya. This Ms. is written in 18 lines total. The letter forms and numerals are writtem in a type of bold calligraphy using a thicker nib. Mistake are covered using yellow.
