About this Manuscript

This is a commentary on the Citradīpa-prakaraṇa of the Pañcadaśī by Vidyāraṇya, written by Rāmakṛṣṇa. The text describes four states (avasthā) of Brahman (the Universal Consciousness): Cit, Antaryāmī, Sūtrātmā, and Virāṭ. This manuscript is similar to Items 895, 1036 and 1033 though this manuscript contains the text upto śloka 103. (Written in 11–15 lines per leaf.; 8 leaves foliated 1-8, upper left verso; earlier foliation from larger manuscript, 45–52, lower right verso. Manuscript was formerly part of a larger manuscript that includes Ms. Coll. 390, Items 1079, 1080, 1081, 1082, and 1083.; Mistakes blacked out; some corrections and additions in margins; vertical margins marked with double red line; decorative free-hand drawing of decorative border around the title on first folio (f. 1a).; Watermarks, one of three initials, B.G.Q.; another of a horse, possibly with a harness.)
