Description

The manuscript belongs to Śukasaptati, a well-known collection of narrative tales centered on themes of love, wit, morality, practical wisdom, and human conduct. The colophons:

Iti śrī Caritraśukasaptatau dvitīya-kathāsaṃgrahaḥ
Iti śrī Caritraśukasaptatau catuḥpañcāśat-kathāsaṃgrahaḥ

confirm that the text forms part of the Caritra-Śukasaptati tradition and is organized into successive story collections (kathāsaṃgraha).

The manuscript extends from folio 1 to folio 179, but it is highly fragmentary. Numerous folios are missing, including folios 4, 15–16, 20–22, 25–26, 29–30, 32, 41, 45–49, 52, 58–64, 71–74, 101, 120–122, 124, 132–134, 140, 146, 155, 162–164, and 166–167. In addition, folio number 106 is repeated, indicating a scribal or pagination irregularity.
