Description
This contains the fourth part (pāda) of the fourth adhyāya (chapter) of a work also known as the Brahma Sūtra, Vedānta Sūtra, and Bhikṣu-sūtra. This is one of three key Vedānta texts, along with the principal Upaniṣads and the Bhagavadgītā. It has incluenced several schools of philosophy but is interpreted differently by the non-dualistic (Advaita), theistic (Viśiṣṭādvaita) and Dvaita (dualistic) sub-schools. Among commentaries, the most widely studied include the bhāṣya by Ādi Śaṅkarācārya, Rāmānuja, Madhvācharya and Bhāskara sūtras.
