Description

The manuscript contains the Hanumatsahasranāmastotra by Vālmīki (attributed name). It contains thousand names of lord Hanumān as the title suggests. As per belief chanting the text leads to spiritual progress, improved health, wealth, and prosperity. Title is taken from the back title page (f. 12b). It is written in 8–9 lines per leaf. 12 leaves are foliated 1–12, upper left and lower right verso. Mistakes are covered with yellow or blacked out. Some corrections and additions in margins; significant syllables and words highlighted in red throughout. It is dated as saṃvat 1084 (1027 CE) in f. 12A, this date dosen't correspond correctly to the estimated time period of the manuscript. It seems like an error by the scribe.
