Description

The work Gāyatrīkalpa, also known as Gāyatrīpuraścaraṇavidhi. Puraścaraṇa is traditionally composed of five components (pañcāṅga): pūjā, homa, japa, tarpaṇa, and the feeding of as many Brahmins as possible each day. The manuscript under consideration, however, contains only the Puraścaraṇa of the Gāyatrī mantra in the form of japa, which represents just one of the five prescribed components. The manuscript is written 7–8 lines per leaf. It is in a good condition. The paper apparently is trimmed on the margins, for marginal writing such as pagination indications are cut off on edges. Mistakes are blocked out with black. Marginal corrections.
