Description
Gayāprakaraṇa is a section of larger work Tristhalīsetu. It is a Dharmśāstra text written by Nārāyaṇa Bhaṭṭa who is well renouned in this genre. The text specifically outlines the rituales and rites associated with the pilgrimage to Gayā which is a major pilgrimage center in India along with Kāśī modern day Varanasi and Prayāga modern day Allahabad or Prayagraj. Gayā is believed to be a sacred place for making offering to ancestors to attain salvation. This Ms. is written in 9 lines per folio. Mistakes are covered with yellow or blacked out. Some corrections and additions in the margins. Significant syllables and words rubbed with orange powder for highlighting.
