Description

Gaurījātaka is a Jyotiṣa text dealing with horoscopes for predicting a person's lifespan according to the rotation of the stars. It may or may not be considered a minor work since critical editions are not available. There also may be more than one texts with the same name. The text is composed in dialogue format between supreme deities Māheśvara (Śiva) and Gauri (Pārvatī). There are tables on the last three folios containing horary calculations for devination. There are a total of 89 verses in the manuscript. This Ms. is written in 8–9 lines per folio. Cover page contains title. Title also present in colophon (f. 25b) along with the date. Mistakes are blacked out. Some corrections and additions in the margins.
