Description

Gaṇapatīgakārādi sahasranāmastotra is a devotional text dedicated to the elephant headed Hindu deity Gaṇeśa. It is part of the larger work Rudrayāmala tantra. The Ms. contains a total of 160 verses which evoke the 1000 names of the deity starting with the consonant Ga. Introductary part of the Ms. cantains speaker titles of deity Pārvatī and Mahādeva (Śiva). There is a karanyāsa part in (f.2a) from where the main verses of the text also begin. This Ms. is written in 8–9 lines per folio. Cover and back page contain title enclosed in a frame. Title also present in colophon (f. 24a). There are double red vertical margins present on each side of the folio. Mistakes are covered with yellow or blacked out. Some corrections and additions in the margins. Double pūrna virāma style full stop brackets are in red.
