Description
This text describes Cāturmāsya, the four-monthly rituals performed during the months of Phālguna, Āṣāḍha, and Kārttika. These rituals are conducted in four parvas: Vaiśvadeva Parva, Varuṇapraghāsa Parva, Sākamedha Parva, and Śunāsīrīya Parva. The manuscript states that the text is based on the Prayoga section of the Āśvalāyana and Baudhāyana Śrautasūtra, but it shows a stronger influence from the Baudhāyana Śrautasūtra, which is evident throughout. The Baudhāyana Śrautasūtra itself is based on the Kṛṣṇa-Yajurveda. The owner of the text is not mentioned, but his father's name is given as Vyaṅkaṭeśaśarmaṇa.
