Description
Bhāgavatapurāṇa (Skandha 10; Uttarārdha) is the 2nd part of 2 from the 10th canto of this purāṇic text. Uttarārdha contains 41 Adhyāyas (chapters) from adhyāya 50–90. The text is listed among the18 Mahāpurāṇas. This Ms. contains a commentary Bhāgavatabhāvārthadīpikā by Śrīdharasvāmin which gives good clarity on the complex philosophy and devotional themes present in the text. The text primarily belongs to the Vaiṣṇava school philosophy. Skandha 10; Uttarārdha contains Kṛṣṇa's life after leaving the city of Mathurā and establishing his capital city of Dvārkā. His repeated victories and battles with king Jarāsandha. His marriage with Rukmiṇī and other queens, such as Satyabhāmā, Jambavatī after their rescue from demons. His Rasa lila (playful dances) with the Gopis is also mentioned. This Ms. is written in 9–15 lines per folio. Cover and back page are blank. There are 2 double red vertical margins present on each side of the folio. The (Pūrna Virāma) full stop style vertical brackets are in red. Mistakes are covered with yellow. Marginal corrections are present.
