Description
An Advaita philosophical text composed in 68 ślokas in Anuṣṭubha metre by Śaṃkarācārya, this work explores jñānayoga and the knowledge of the Self. Śaṃkarācārya outlines the qualities of a person eligible to follow the path of self-realization. It also discusses the nature of the world (saṃsāra), māyā, ātman, Brahman (Universal Consciousness), and liberation. The influence of the Upaniṣads is especially prominent in this work. This work is similar to Item 1112. This Ms. is written in 9 lines per folio. Cover and back page contains title. Title present in colophon (f. 5a). There are quadruple margins on each side of the folio with red in between. Mistakes covered with white or blacked out. Some corrections and additions in the margins. The (Pūrṇavirāma) full stop style vertical brackets are in red.
