Description

Asthiśuddhi is a manual for Hindu rituals purifying bones of deceased as part of the funeral rites of the person. For context it is believed that bones may hold residual energy in the form of impurities in the deceased person and purification might be necessary for liberation of the Ātmana to after life. This Ms. is written in 9 lines per folio. Back page is blank. Title present in colophon (f. 2a). Mistakes are blacked out. Some corrections and additions in the margins. Significant syllables and words rubbed with orange powder for highlighting.
