Description

This is a stotra text written in 14 verses, praising Lord Śiva. The purpose of chanting this stotra is to seek forgiveness for sins and transgressions (aparādha). The text is attributed to Śaṅkarācārya as its composer. This manuscript contains a commentary titled 'Aparādhasundarastotraṭīkā' (a title taken from the marginal abbreviation), though the incipit refers to the commentary as 'Sundarasyāparādhasyaṭīkā' , and the colophon mentions it as 'Aparādhasundaravyākhyā'. It is similar to Item 2473, though it lacks two verses. This Ms. is written in 6–14 lines per folio. Cover and back page contain title enclosed in double black horizontal and vertical margins creating a frame. Title present in colophon (f. 7a). Title of commentary Aparādhasundarastotraṭīkā present in marginal abbrevations. The text of the commentary is smaller than the main text. There are double red vertical margins on each side of the folio. Mistakes are covered with yellow or blacked out. Some corrections and additions in the margins.
