Description
Amaruśataka is an erotic poetry which contains 100 verses filled with themes of Śṛṅgāra rasa romantic flavours of emotion. The text has various concepts on depiction of love and romance from the perspective of both genders. The text is attributed to Kashmiri king Amaru of the 7–8th century. There is a popular legend that goes that Adi Śaṅkarācārya the great Advaita Vedānta philosopher possessed the body of the original author Amaru and composed this work by experiencing Amaru's former passions. This Ms. is written in 8 lines per folio. The text is Attributed to Śaṅkarācārya in (f. 12a). Back page is blank. Mistakes are covered with yellow or blacked out. Some corrections and additions in the margins in red and black. Significant syllables and words rubbed with orange powder for highlighting. Some folios are yellow.
