Description
Amarakośa is a Sanskrit thesaurus or a type of lexicon which has categorized sanskrit words arranging them in verse form to aid memorization and classification. The text is a valuable resource for learners as well as scholars. It is divided into 3 Kāṇḍas. (1) Svargādi-kāṇḍa, (2) Bhūvargādi-kāṇḍa, (3) Sāmānyādi-kāṇḍa. The text contains a commentary in the 2nd scribal hand in the first folio. This Ms. lacks a begining. This Ms. is written in 6 lines per folio. Title present in colophon (f. 88b). Mistakes are covered with yellow or blacked out. Some corrections and additions in the margins. Significant syllables and words rubbed with orange powder for highlighting.
