Description

Agnihotrahomaprāyaścita is a priest manual for performing Agnihotra sacrificial rituals. It is a vedic fire ritual performed during sunrise and sunset which involves various ingredients like rice, ghee etc. Bestowed in the fire in a copper pyramid shaped vessel along with chanting of mantras. The ritual is belived to purify the enviroment and have a positive impact on mental and emotional health. This Ms. is written in 8–9 lines per folio. Cover and back page are blank. Title present in the begining of the text. Author name Raghunātha present in colophon (f.59a). There are double red vertical margins on each side of the folio. Mistakes are covered with yellow or blacked out. Some corrections and additions in the margins. Significant words are written in red.
